Pathfinder-Ralen Bek-Day Three

Day Three
I awoke to the sounds of an explosion and found our ranger to be dead due to a goblin from a group we had fought in the forest. I rue now that we let one run away. I had thought the survivor would have been too terrified to do anything but it would seem not.

As morning came the ranger who had aided us came to seek our aid in a personal matter. It seemed his child had gone missing and we agreed to assist him. Some of the group asked for payment and then the halfling went and asked around. It seems that the children had headed for destroyed orphanage in the outskirts of town that had been burnt down some ten years ago. It would seem that this is a local dare of sorts that is common amongst children.

We set out and arrived at the orphanage without delay or distraction. There was little left as it had been burned down some time ago and we found no signs that anyone but us had been at this orphanage recently. A small torture room was discovered by the halfling that was now populated by a group of spiders. The spiders were killed and then we set off back to town, watching for side paths or camps that the kids might have used.

A small child came out of the woods then, telling us that she knew where the missing kids were and despite her obvious lying we followed her as there were no other leads. Then we came upon the brother of our deceased ranger, a half orc barbarian who had taken to drinking as a result of the tragedy. He joined us and after examining the campsite we determined that there were kobold scales everywhere. Given the girls lying earlier I decided to see if I could tell if she was evil. She most definitely was.

I was going to attempt to kill her when the sorceror set a tree on fire and the girl escaped in the confusion. I was most irritated with this development. We found her path to be going in a different direction than the one the kobolds had gone and so we put her out of our mind for the moment.

We continued on then, discovering the kobolds were heading to the monastery we had just visited and then stopped to rest for the night.
